RCRN comes with 3 default presets that you can conveniently switch between using the newly upgraded RCRN Customizer.
All the 3 presets are developed in the same way, sharing the same settings during dawn, day, and dusk. The only difference when deciding your preference, however, is in the darkness settings both during nighttime and in dungeons.
> RCRN Legacy : The brightest and least extreme of the three presets, providing the highest level of visibilities in all locations. It’s configured with less contrast, and slightly brighter nights and dungeons than those of RCRN Classic. It remains well balanced with realistic dynamic lighting, ultra-realistic weather conditions, and a general ‘rule of thumb’ that your survival is not gravely impacted by whether or not you’re equipped with a carrable light source. Having one can still aid in your adventure; it’s just not detrimental. (recommended for newcomers)
> RCRN Classic : Closer to the mid range of the presets, a higher degree of challenge is offered. Classic has a healthy balance in colors, realistic dynamic lighting, ultra-realistic weather conditions, but nights and dungeons are noticably darker than the Legacy preset. As the more balanced preset, there are areas you may manage to survive without a torch equipped, while other locations will push that threshold to its limits. It is advised to keep light source handy, because there will be moments not having one will work against you.
> RCRN Pure : The most extreme preset of the trio, invites the ultimate Skyrim experience. This is the most intense of the presets, offering pitch black nights and intimidating pitch black dungeons. Pure will still contain ultra-realistic weather conditions, but when it comes to nighttime and dungeons, prepare for the uncertainty and surprises awaiting you just beyond the lighting radius of your mandatory torch.
